2016 Update to the Blueprint Report: LEVERAGING PROGRESS

The 2016 Blueprint Report: Leveraging Progress is CCFWG’s third Blueprint Report and remains the only gender-specific research in the region. The 2016 Blueprint provides an in-depth and comprehensive assessment on pressing issues women and girls face at the local, state and national levels. The title, Leveraging Progress, indicates that women have made remarkable social and economic progress in the 21st century that can be used to advance areas where improvements are still needed. Based on data collected through existing local, regional and national data sources, focus groups, surveys and in-depth interviews, the Report underscores the long-term effects of the economic recession on the health, safety and financial security of women and girls. The Report identifies seven major areas of progress for women and girls in Chester County and Pennsylvania and indicates where additional improvements are still needed:

• Employment and Earnings
• Work and Family
• Poverty and Opportunity
• Reproductive Rights

The research was completed in collaboration with West Chester University’s Center for Social and Economic Policy Research.
