WOMEN'S RESOURCE CENTER

Since 1975 Women’s Resource Center has provided support services to women in crisis and transition. The Fund’s grant supports the Single Mothers Parenting program which aims to overcome the isolation and lack of access to social services and economic opportunities experienced by single mothers. Programming focuses on goal-setting, self-esteem, healthy relationships, dealing with stress, communications skills development, family financial issues, legal concerns, career/education choices, and parenting issues.

Single Mothers Parenting Program

"The Women's Resource Center gave me a ray of hope."

Studies show that there is a high correlation between the isolation of single parents and high rates of child abuse and neglect. The Women's Resource Center's Single Mother's Parenting Groups increases the economic freedom and self-sufficienct, well-being, and security of Chester County's women and girls. Over the past 20 years the Single Mother's Program has had over 775 participants. 91% of the participants reeported increased self-esteem and less stress; 85% noted improved ability to parent their children; and 89% reported improved communication and relationship skills.
