9th Annual Making a Difference Luncheon
Each year the Making a Difference Luncheon grows in size and popularity. Coming from across the Philadelphia region, generous corporate and individual sponsors, along with enthusiastic attendees, overwhelm the Fund with their incredible passion and support for our mission. “Women and Girls Fixing the World” “Inspired Philanthropy for Women and Girls” “Invest in Girls -- Confident Women Emerge!” These were the six-word “stories” shared by our audience in response to keynote speaker Taunya English.
Kitchen Table Award
Bonnie Van Alen and Alice Hausmann, co-founders of the Willistown Conservation Trust are women leaders were honored as the 2014 recipients of the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls’ Kitchen Table Award. The award is named after the spirited conversation around kitchen tables, board tables, and coffee tables that created and built the Fund.

An Evening to Celebrate New Horizons strengthened relationships among new and old friends and raised $161,000 to advance important work benefitting women, girls, and their families. The event and money raised for the Compass Fund recognized Heidi McPherson’s visionary contributions and leadership for 16 years to the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls. The Compass Fund provides financial resources to expand and grow the bold, purposeful work of the Fund for Women and Girls, and to explore fresh, innovative approaches to the challenges faced by women and children in our community.
Grants Celebration
Together with over 150 community leaders, nonprofit agencies and Chester County citizens the 2014 grant award recipients gathered for recognition at the Grants Celebration at the historic Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville. The Fund reached the $2 million mark in grants awarded to outstanding agencies across Chester County. Twenty-six agencies received $255,000 total in grants this year.
