YOUNGMOMS

YoungMoms is a comprehensive support program that provides the academic, vocational, parenting and relational support teen mothers need to achieve their goals and improve their lives and those of their children. One-on-one mentoring, life-skills instruction, and individualized support and advocacy is offered to teen mothers. Teens are connected to services that address issues such as domestic violence, poverty, language barriers, unemployment, and incomplete schooling.

YoungMoms Case Management and Mentoring

80 % of teen mothers are likely to rely on welfare.

YoungMoms empowers pregnant and parenting teens to reach their full potential as women and mothers. Over the past 4 years YoungMoms has helped over 120 young mothers stay in high school, pursue a college education, access vocational training, gain parenting skills, and connect with community resources. Currently 24 young women are receiving direct support from YoungMoms and 87% of participants are employed and/or in training or certification programs.
