In May, community leaders, generous corporate and individual sponsors and enthusiastic activists gathered at the annual Making a Difference Luncheon to celebrate women in philanthropy and community service, as well as to learn more about the challenges facing women, girls and their families in our communities. Keynote speaker, T. Morgan Dixon, Co-Founder of GirlTrek, brought the audience to its feet with her message of supporting women’s health. She conveyed the importance of walking as essential to the health and well-being of women, a first step in in securing the self-determination of women and girls.
